…my hands manipulate my memories…childhood peaches, sandbanks blooming with strange flowers from which the most diverse insects sucked nectar…
…nature studied, analysed and reproduced in the divine, inimitable, incomparable material that is glass.
…curiosity has stimulated the inventiveness of all great artists, and manual skill and mastery have driven their desire to go even further, in a perpetual challenge with themselves.
…from my mother, who was a lace maker, I learned that art requires patience and dexterity to create intricate details.
…my father was a fisherman: he knew nature inside out, he could ‘predict’ the weather, where the fish were, and the changes in the lagoon and the sea during each season.
…from him I learned discipline, seriousness, accuracy…
…every day there is always something new to learn and new techniques to try out
…the challenge I have set myself is to continue to create pieces that are increasingly complex and difficult to imitate.
…inspiration is very important in my work and the object must convey feelings and emotions to me and to those who observe it.
…a sleepless night spent thinking and a day spent bent over the flame.
…if I can work during the day, it’s because I worked at night…
Sometimes I think about quitting, but after a moment, I realise that working with glass is my life…
…I love the fragility and transparency of glass, I love shaping it thanks to its softness, I love mixing colours…
…craftsmanship is the art of creating…
